Back in Thatcher!

After being gone a week it was really good to see Kyle again! I had missed him! Throughout this week we watched Despicable Me, went on walks, he came to see me when I worked late, we made pancakes on national pancake day with everyone. These pancakes had cream soda in them! We played racquetball and I lost both times we played ha.

Then on Friday I was at Holli's and Kyle invited us to very last minute go to Show Low to watch a snowboarding competition and to go to the Vocal Point concert. It was more of a joke but then we were all thinking about it and we could totally do it! So we were ready to go and done with everything by about 5 and we went to Little Caesars and got a hot and ready pizza and Italian cheesy bread. And we ate it and then started the journey. Kyle wanted to take the longer scenic route even though it was getting dark and he hadn't been that way before. So we were driving and we got to New Mexico... So we turned around and found where we missed the turn. It took 5 hours to get to Show Low on winding roads. We stopped in Round Valley and Holli and I found weed... in the bathroom! So we told the clerk and he got it and smelt it and then he just said well someones going to be missing that. And he just threw it in the trash can. I felt like he should call the cops! But oh well, we had places to be! When we finally arrive at Kyle's house, we were received with a warm welcome and we had chips and salsa and a delicious soup, as we all got acquainted. His parents were so much fun to talk with and it was fun to see him interact with his family.

On Saturday we got up and had breakfast which was biscuits and bacon gravy and eggs with veggies and salsa. Super yummie. Then we quick got all of our snow stuff and headed out to Sunrise but we got lost. We were able to find it though and we watched Dathen and a few others snow board. Then we ate sandwiches, brownies, and strawberries that Kyle's mom had kindly made for us. And then there was a DJ and shuffling contest going on and it was sweet! And we got a free CD. On our way back to Kyle's we were going to go romping in the snow with Tucker (the name of the truck) but we made it like 30 feet from the road and got stuck! No surprises there. So we tried to get it unstuck and before too long a car stopped and a guy got out and offered to help push. He said he passed by and thought he should go back and check. So him and his brother helped us get unstuck! Hooray! What a blessing that we got helped instead of having to do it all by ourselves. We went straight to Kyle's house after that and were welcomed with homemade bread sticks! Mmm... one of Kyle's favorite dinners. Kyle LOVES bread. Then it was to the Vocal Point concert! It was so good and it was packed but we found some seats on the end in the front half. When they started having crowed participation I was like I really hope they don't ask me and sure enough Trevor, one of the singers comes straight towards me and quietly asks if I'll answer a question, what is the largest audience Vocal Point has ever preformed in front of? and I said yes and then he asked if Kyle and I were on date and we said yes and he said perfect I'll ask you a couple of questions and have you introduce your guy here, and then ask you the question. Then it was show time, ah... I'm getting so nervous just typing this story! So he has me stand up and asks me my name and where I'm from and he put his arm around me and said I'm probably making this guy jealous over here. And he had Kyle stand up and he asked me to introduce him and say where he was from. Then he asked me the question and I guessed and they answered. And then he put me on the spot and asked me what the best date I had ever been on was. And he said you better think very carefully. I couldn't think of anything and so I just said this one time I went to Tucson. Everyone and the singers were like what? Boo! And Trevor said are you sure and I was confused and I said it was pretty fun... then I got it and said, at a Vocal Point concert! And everyone cheered and laughed. Trevor said you did perfect that was funny and awesome. whew. Then my heart started to beat again and I was able to relax. The rest of the concert continued to be really fun and beautiful. Then we started back to Show Low because the concert was in Snowflake and we got pulled over! And the cop took all of our licences which was really weird. But he let us go with a written warning and a service repair thing. Kyle started plotting to trick his mom into thinking he got pulled over for speeding, the cop thinking we were drinking, that it was in a school zone so double fines, the broken light, the blinker wasn't working, and I don't know what else! And I couldn't believe little sweet innocent Kyle was creating such a plan! But it worked and then he went and got the "ticket" and she was looking at it. And at the time she was cutting Nathan's hair and so when she realized it was a joke Kyle started running and she chased him around the kitchen and it was just too funny! Kyle made a joke about her chasing him around with the scissors. Oh man it was so hard not to give away the prank when Kyle was telling it. Holli had to leave the room because she was going to laugh too hard! Kyle didn't think he could trick his dad like that but we all wanted him to try but it just didn't work. And so we just told him the funny story about how Kyle had tricked his mom. We then had the most wonderful cheese cake I have ever had and it was homemade! It had raspberries and was just great. After that we all played scum and had a great time. And to end the night we had jam and bread. I washed my hair and Kyle was playing with my hair while it dried and we talked about how the weekend had been going and were laughing at all the silly stuff.

Sunday Holli woke up and wan't feeling good at all. Kyle's mom got her all doctored up and we got ready because we would be making it back just in time for church. We left and about and hour out of Show Low Kyle checks his phone and realizes that his family tried to get a hold of him to tell him he left his backpack and laptop. He really needed those things so we turned around and I borrowed one of his mom's skirts and we went to church and poor poor Holli stayed and watched a movie/slept. We stayed for dinner and had pork roast with chipotle raspberry sauce, salad, roasted veggies, and croissants. Mmm. Then we left again, made it back to Thatcher, made pancakes, and watched 21.

What a crazy fun weekend it was!
